Listening to the Electromagnetic Sounds audio demo, it’s hard to believe that these noises weren’t synthesized. But it’s true! These are all real-world recordings of actual electromagnetic fields and electronic devices.
To record these sounds, Marcel Gnauk of Free To Use Sounds took his trusty LOM Priezor antenna for a spin around the city of Singapore. The antenna was connected to a Zoom F8n field recorder, capturing a crowded metropolis’s electromagnetic activity.
Marcel recorded numerous electromagnetic sound sources, including arcade centers, air conditioners, bus stops, vending machines, elevators, and more. It’s amazing to hear these electronic noises that surround us every day, without us even noticing.
The included recordings are ready to use in video projects and music production, but you can also use them to experiment with sound design and create custom sound effects.
With some processing and editing, you can transform these recordings into laser noises, spaceship sounds, or intricate alien soundscapes.
